Flawless Friday is my weekly post to share with you the flawless, sometimes funny, moments of our week. This is a way I can remember all the fab moments and events during our week and focus on the flawless. It’s a great thing to do, especially when you’re having a rough week, we all have them.
- This week we’ve had a holiday at home. A staycation. A week with Mr Firstooth at home and everyday spent as a family. I took a mini break myself, I tried to keep up with emails and blogging during the week (I know, yawn), but I just didn’t have the time. It was lovely. Firstooth has consumed my life for such a long time that it was nice to have everything scheduled and not worry too much about keeping on top of it all. I would say we feel refreshed, but we have toddlers, and they don’t like it when we feel rested and refreshed. They hate it, actually.
The main reason for our staycation was a visit from my aunt, uncle and cousins. I absolutely love catching up with them. They stayed nearby on a holiday park and although it rained pretty much everyday, it’s half term so it’s practically weather law, we had a great week.
We visited a beach almost everyday. Us Brits are made of sturdy stuff. Strong winds and heavy showers won’t stop us pitching at the beach with an ice cream.
We’re ordering a new blind for our hall. It’ll be a Roman blind, which I think are gorgeous and the colours will be a striped yellow and white. Things like that make my day, one step closer to a finished house!
We hosted a Mexican meal night which seemed to be a huge success. I’m mad on Mexican food, so I was pleased when everyone enjoyed our spread. Plus it all got eaten. It was either really tasty, or I didn’t make enough. Who knows.
Knowing how much I’m getting into crafts, my parents surprised me with a couple of crafts magazines. I will be studying those. I may live a crazy life with these toddler beasts, but I love nothing more than getting lost on Instagram or Pinterest, staring at pretty pictures or creative crafts.
My parents also treated us to flowers. It’s great being a host. We were inundated with wine too. Delicious.
It’s our friends daughters birthday soon and I spotted the perfect gift for her. As kids get older, their presents are a little more interesting than the usual teddy or t-shirt. I never truly know what to buy tiny children as a gift, I wing it and think about what I’d like for my tiny people. This year I’ve branched out. I can’t spoil it here, but I think our friends have an idea of what it may B…
So there you have it, my flawless week. Following on from last weeks’ embarrassing story, this week I replied to an email completely mispelling the persons name. Instead of saying ‘thanks ….’, I said ‘thanks hat on’. I didn’t even notice until days later.
There’ll also be a post coming up about our staycation and how you can have a staycation too. It’s really easy. Probably easier without toddlers. But if you have them, then they’re along for the ride. Obviously our entire week wasn’t giggles from start to finish, we had high expectations, which always leads to excessive amounts of toddler whingeing. Delightful. You’ll see why next week.
Let me know about your week in the comments. Have a flawless weekend!
