Flawless Friday May 6th

A weekly post to capture and remember the flawless moments of our week. Even in the roughest of weeks it’s important to take the time to notice the good that’s going on.

So here is this weeks’ Flawless Friday:

  • I started a guest post series on Tuesday and the response was great. I’m looking forward to the next installments of it, so keep them coming guys. Anything at all to do with parenting whether it’s insightful, ranty, funny or a whole heap of tips that will be helpful to the other mamas and papas here
  • We had a great day out to the castle over the weekend. Mr Firstooth had to work and subsequently didn’t arrive home til past midnight (probably in a nearby bar until then), so the days out with Granny and Grandad Firstooth was welcomed with huge open arms (because they were carrying the kids, duh)
  • Putting the kids to bed solo went smoothly, they seem to go to bed easier this way. I know that’s a little boring but I appreciated their cooperation
  • We joined the Bank Holiday masses in our local retail park. Sh*t got real when the carpark turned into gridlock, but the purpose of our trip out was to buy our baby beast a Fireman Sam truck. Yes, just to buy a single sodding Fireman Sam truck, it made his day bless him and we were lucky they actually existed. I agreed to buy one before doing my research. Obviously there’s a blog about this, which you can read tomorrow morning at breakfast
  • Mr Firstooth had Monday to Wednesday off so we spent those days doing sweet family things and he evened managed to slope off early on Thursday, gimme five
  • Tuesday night we had tickets to watch the comedian Sean Lock. I love him, his dry satire and sarcastic wit could keep me laughing for days. The show got cancelled which was unbelievably disappointing, we don’t go out much in the evenings you see. Instead we made use of the grandparent babysitters and went out for a meal
  • The evening we went out was the very same evening the kids decided to turn into toddler terrorists and wreak havoc all night, until ten minutes before we arrived home. I’m just grateful the grandparents had control of them, and enjoyed it. Strange
  • The weather. Clear blue skies and the warm sun, without the intermittant hailstones, what was that about last week? I managed to dry all my washing outside this week and we’ve even managed a trip or two without coats, get us

That is so annoying Sean Lock got cancelled, at least you still made the most of having babysitters. I love going out with no coat on, it feels so refreshing. Sounds like a fab week x #HappyDays

So glad you managed to get a Fireman Sam truck for your little one – especially if you didn’t know they existed before agreeing to get one! What a shame that the Sean Lock show was cancelled though. Sounds like you made the most of still being able to have a night out though 🙂 #HappyDaysLinky

Oh no, bummer about Sean Lock. At least you got to have a meal out and adult conversation with MrFirstTooth. Great that he had time off too so that he could be home to do parenting stuff! Grandparents enjoy the strangest of things! Great week x
