Do you fancy starting your day with a detoxing juice?
Then give this simple and healthy recipe a try. It’s filled with vitamins and tastes delicious. I whizzed it up when our family were suffering with colds, I became desperate to fill our bodies with a vitamin boost. Not only is it a detoxing juice, but it also counts towards your 5-a-day.
Everyone can benefit from enjoying the sweet taste of juice. This detoxing juice also has the bonus of a slight tang too, delicious. Making a juice yourself means you’re in control of what goes into the drink, there’ll be no added and unnatural sugars invited to this juicing party.
Pre-made juices tend to be concentrated and are boiled at incredibly high temperatures to kill any unwanted bacteria. The problem with this is that during the pasteurizing process the good bacteria is also killed. Leaving you with nothing more than a sweet fruity syrup, highly concentrated in sugar.
By making your Detoxing Juice yourself, there’ll be a little more mess than one out of the carton, but think of the health benefits. It’s also incredibly easy to create and is made from fruit you probably already have sitting in your fruit bowl.
This recipe serves between 1-2 people, you can add more fruit for extra servings.
- 1 Large orange peeled with pips removed
- 1 Small apple (Bramley apples are sweet, but pick any apple which suits your taste)
- 1 Kiwi Peeled
- A handful of strawberries
- Juice from half a lemon
- 200ml Water (or freshly brewed green tea)
Throw everything into a blender, or juicer, whizz until the consistency is smooth and enjoy.
If you fancy making the juice a little cooler, then add a few ice cubes for a cool crunch. You could also freeze the juice in ice-lolly moulds, perfect for everyone throughout summer.
