Nutribuddy Review {Weight Loss Days 1 & 2}

I applied for a chance to trial a product called Nutribuddy. I went for the ‘Weight Loss Starter Kit’, to kickstart me into losing weight, eating healthier and changing our lifestyle. I’m the kind of person that needs a little guidance when it comes to things like this. I don’t know about you, but I find it very difficult to focus on meal plans and health goals, without some form of  help. Ok, maybe it’s cheating, but it’s better to cheat your way to the ‘you’ you want to be.

I’m currently on Day 2, but by the time this post is published it’ll be the start of Day 3. I’ll be sharing my weight loss journey here, and I’m going to be completely honest with you throughout the month I do this, I don’t want to flower over anything.

Firstly, I don’t like diets, I feel that they’re restrictive. Of course they are. But, a diet is sometimes the only way to change the way you think about food, and to give you the body confidence you’re looking for. It’s a necessary evil, I’ve attempted many.

Secondly, I’m really not a fan of shake diets. I don’t think they’re the best way to get results, I’ve tried them and my goodness did I miss eating food. I didn’t even lose weight. But I put a lot of weight on once I had finished the shake diet. Maybe it was all the Mexican food I ate, who knows.

Nutribuddys’ ‘Weight Loss Start Kit’ is created to help curb those snacking cravings. It aims to keep your body filled with nutrition, while slimming down. This is what I like about it.

But let me just tell you what was included first.

With Weight Loss Kit the kit I received:

  • Nutribuddy sculpting whey – a whey protein based shake, including some natural ingredients to boost metabolism. This is taken in place of unhealthy snacks to keep you feeling full. You can also use this as a meal replacement as either lunch or dinner, but if you like you three meals a day then there’s no need to. It depends what your biggest downfall is, snacks or large unhealthy meals. (I’m both.)
  • Nutribuddy hunger fix tablets – they do what they say on the tin, help curb your hunger. The tablets take up space in your stomach to help naturally suppress appaetite The ingredient used is glucomannan which is side-effect-free, natural and powerful. These are taken 15mins to 1hour before each main meal.
  • Nutribuddy multivitamins –  a tablet with a mixture of vitamins for general health

So, for me I absolutely love that it’s not a programme replacing meals with shakes (unless you want it to). I also received a little diet plan which mostly I’m sticking to, but if I deviate from it, we do have healthy meals, I promise.

Here are my short accounts of the first two days:

Day 1

On the first day of every health kick I always wake up feeling motivated. Lets do this. I followed the breakfast from the meal plan which was porridge. Before breakfast the meal plan advised to drink two full glasses of water along with taking the hunger fix tablets, so come breakfast I was feeling a little full already. But being a foodie, I always have room for a meal. The porridge wasn’t as sweet as I’d usually have it (that’d defeat the object), but feeling motivated I got through it.

We had a play-date today, which normally means crisps, chocolate and cake, but we managed it with the healthy stuff and a tube of Pringles. I will be honest, the lunch was absolutely delicious and filling (chicken and quinoa), but i was craving something. Anything. I eat 4 Pringles. Usually I’d eat the entire tube, so my will-power did me proud.

My friends daughter ate the rest, she knew she had to.

Come the evening I was incredibly pleased I didn’t slip, I know, it’s only Day 1. It was tough though and I did feel hungry. I think it affected me more because I couldn’t eat the junk I normally do. It wasn’t an option to pop open a bag of Cheddars or Minstrels. I want to lose weight, I need to suffer these hunger cravings to achieve this, otherwise I’ll be forever going in circles.

By bedtime I was exhausted, I’m not sure if this was because of our house filled with tiny babes, or because of the diet. I do know that it was the best nights sleep I’ve had in a long time.

Day 2

I didn’t stick to the meal-plan today, other than for dinner. But, I didn’t cheat, don’t worry. I made sure the meals we did eat were healthy and all-in were roughly around 1,500 calories or less.

I found it really tough today, I desperately just wanted tea and biscuits. To sit in the afternoon when my youngest was asleep and eat biscuits with a gorgeous cup of tea. I didn’t. I had tea, but no biscuits. Boring. What I’ve found is that I don’t need these sweet treats, I want them.

The difference is sometimes hard to judge.

As I type this post Mr Firstooth is sitting next to me eating those giant, gooey cookies. What an insensitive… I’m not eating any, I swear. I want to, and maybe I will in a weeks time when these cravings aren’t so consuming. In a week I will deserve a little treat, life is for living and with Nutribuddy helping me through my weight-loss journey, a little treat, little, once a week is something to look forward to.

So, is Nutribuddy working? I’m not sure if I’ve lost weight two days in, but I’m feeling positive about this weight loss journey. The shakes are tasty, the meals are filling and I’m excited to step on the scales, because I’m pretty sure I will be dropping the pounds. I’m free of headaches already, ones I was getting daily (may be a coincidence, but lets hope not) and I’m generally feeling good. I will let you know next week if I’ve fallen off the wagon or if I’ve dropped a dress size and maybe Britains Next Top model will be calling…

Best of luck with this. I used to find dieting really easy BC (before child) but since becoming a Mum nearly 2 and a half years ago, my motivation has flown out the window. You’re right in what you say about wanting treats and not needing them. I guess it is in the mind isn’t it really. Still doesn’t help when I’m staring at the bottom of an empty biscuit barrel; having just consumed the lot! I’ll be interested in following your progress. #bestandworst

Haha!! Make sure you restock!! It is tough especially when you do NEED something sweet if you’ve had a tough day with toddlers. I’m just allowing myself tea as a treat. I know… yawn. But I enjoy every sip

He’s so insensitive… lol! Thank you diets are so tough but this one is probably the easiest I’ve tried so far. It’s making me think a bit more about what I’m eating. But I’ve not forgotten how delicious doritios are!! Thanks for hosting hun x

You are so like me! I LOVE my food, and chocolate, and crisps, and… *wipes dribble from chin*
It is so hard to be healthy, especially when you like your food. I too don’t think the meal replacement shakes ever work but it does sound like using them as a snack replacement could be the way to go. I’ll be interested to see how you get on. xx

It’s good that you don’t have to replace meals with milkshakes, there’s no way I could do that- I’d miss food too much. Good luck with your weight loss. Xx

Thank you! Yes I have replaced a couple of meals out of choice (so much easier than making a meal) but I do love my three meals a day xx

I have heard of Nutribuddy more than a few times this year and also seen a few guys running the trial too. It will be amazing to see how it goes and wish you all the best. I also hate anything that restricts one’s regular diet, simply I don’t like starving in the name of losing weight.
Thanks for the share and will be following on your progress.

Thank you so much for your lovely comment. It’s going surprisingly well so far. I am finding it tough to cut out sugars, but thankfully I’ve not been hungry. It’s been cravings horrible cravings for treats

I’m interested to see what you think past day two. I haven’t done this diet but I did a detox before that runs for 9 days. The first two days are tough going with shakes but then you are allowed more food after that. It definitely jump started my diet & I found it good but difficult. Good luck & keep up the good work! Thanks so much for sharing with blogger club uk x
